The Skeleton Gorge trail winds through indigenous forest, past trickling streams and waterfalls, before emerging onto the open slopes of the New Seven Natural Wonder of the World. • The journey typically takes 5–6 hours round trip, depending on your fitness level and pace. As you ascend, your guide will share fascinating stories about the mountain’s diverse ecology, geology, and cultural heritage, revealing how this region forms part of one of the most biodiverse floral kingdoms on Earth. • At the summit, you’ll discover one of Table Mountain’s hidden treasures ~ a secluded “beach on top of the mountain”, a soft sandy spot beside the sparkling mountain reservoirs. Here, you’ll enjoy a relaxed picnic stop featuring South African snacks and refreshments, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Back Table and distant peaks. • After soaking in the serenity of this high-altitude haven, you’ll hike back down through the shaded forests of Skeleton Gorge, returning to Kirstenbosch Gardens.
